Social-Emotional Learning: Systemic Innovation for Improved Outcomes

We've partnered on this webinar with Education Week to show you how schools that explicitly teach social-emotional learning (SEL) create positive learning environments and see gains, such as an average 11 percent increase in academic achievement.

Paul Cruz, Austin ISD Superintendent, will describe how Austin transformed its entire learning ecosystem through a districtwide commitment to SEL. Under his leadership, graduation rates have improved to an all-time high of 84.1 percent, and post-secondary enrollment rates have increased significantly.

Sherrie Raven, Austin ISD SEL Coordinator, will provide real-world examples and advice for successful schoolwide and districtwide implementation.

Roger Weissberg, Chief Knowledge Officer for the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning, will share industry expertise and his broad knowledge of SEL.

Joan Cole Duffell, Executive Director for Committee for Children, will moderate.
