Juliet Kandel Implementation and Training Manager Read Bio × Juliet Kandel Implementation and Training Manager Juliet has worked in the field of social-emotional learning (SEL), violence, and substance abuse prevention since 1989 and began working at Committee for Children in 2003. She was formerly a prevention coordinator for a small school district in Ohio. At Committee for Children, she supports systemic Second Step implementations across the country through consultation, implementation-tool development, strategic partnerships, and professional development projects, such as our Second Step Leadership Institute. Juliet is committed to discovering and supporting what adults need in order for children to get the greatest benefit from SEL instruction. Juliet attended the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, and received a bachelor of arts in linguistics and communication disorders. Casey Escola, MA Implementation Specialist Read Bio × Casey Escola, MA Implementation Specialist In 2018 Casey Escola began supporting our Education, Research, and Impact team, where she attends national conferences, coordinates local and regional partnerships, and meets with district and school leaders to build creative implementation strategies. She believes strongly in the potential for education to affect students’ lives, and she’s committed to providing children an environment where they can be appreciated, accepted, and confident. Previously, Casey worked as a preschool teacher, ABA therapist for elementary-aged students with autism, Peace Corps volunteer and educator, and graduate research assistant in early learning and literacy. She loves meeting new people and learning their perspectives and stories. With an academic focus on teaching empathy as a foundation for civic engagement, Casey holds a master’s degree in sociology of education from New York University and a bachelor’s in cultural anthropology from the University of Washington. She is an avid traveler, speaks French, and loves to draw and paint.
