Adam Peck, MIT Senior Client Support Services Representative Read Bio × Adam Peck, MIT Senior Client Support Services Representative Adam has been a part of the Committee for Children team since 2008. He has experience as a middle school para-educator and a high school humanities teacher. Adam is an integral part of our international work and regularly assists with our copyright permission requests. Adam’s ideal night is being home with his family, eating spicy food, and playing board games. Mark Steinberg, MEd Senior Client Support Services Representative Read Bio × Mark Steinberg, MEd Senior Client Support Services Representative Mark began working at Committee for Children in 2004. He’s a graduate of Iowa State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in zoology. Mark went on to get his master’s degree in physical education from the University of Oregon. In the years before he joined Committee for Children, Mark was a high school teacher in biology, chemistry, physics, math, geography, health, and marine science. He also coached cross country and track and field. Akilah Naji Client Support Services Representative Read Bio × Akilah Naji Client Support Services Representative Akilah joined with Committee for Children in early 2018. She has experience as an educator as well as work in the customer-service and call-center sectors. As a teacher, Akilah specialized in students with disabilities. She served as a program specialist for preschool and after-school programs and worked as an instructional assistant for students with autism. Akilah believes the resources that Committee for Children offers can help students build healthy lives, and she’s eager to work directly with teachers and administrators. Akilah received a dual-major BA in elementary and special education from Grambling State University. When not working, her hobbies are reading and cooking, and she’s learning to sew, knit, and crochet. She is also interested in yoga and is considering her certification as an instructor. Sarah Rubin, MA Client Support Services Representative Read Bio × Sarah Rubin, MA Client Support Services Representative Sarah is a native Seattleite who joined Committee for Children in 2018. She has worked with children for more than 30 years, most recently teaching second grade at Seattle Jewish Community School. In Philadelphia, she worked as an education resource specialist for a nonprofit that provides resources and support for more than 100 synagogues nationwide. Sarah has excavated archaeological sites in Israel, Turkey, and the Midwestern United States, and she organized a conference in 2003 that led to the origin of Reconstructionist Educators of North America. Sarah holds a BA from Ohio State and an MA in anthropology from Indiana University. In her spare time—when not running around with her husband and son—she knits and reads and writes mysteries. Dyanne Jaenz Order Processor Read Bio × Dyanne Jaenz Order Processor Dyanne started with Committee for Children in early 2018, and she considers this her dream job. Even though she has worked in several different industries, this is her first experience in a nonprofit or educational sector. Dyanne is overjoyed with the opportunity to help support our organization’s mission by nurturing relationships with educators and building safe, supportive learning environments for all students. She lists her talent for accurately processing dense amounts of information as her greatest skill. All of the needle arts— crocheting, knitting, and cross-stitching—are her favorite pastimes, and her four cats, including two strays, keep her busy at home.
